Broadway Limited EMD NW2 Phase V Switcher - Burlington Northern #594 DCC
After WWII, dieselization began in earnest and EMD's switchers dominated the market. From February 1939 to December 1949, EMD produced 1,145 NW2s. Each was equipped with a 1,000 hp, V12 567-A engine. Distinguishing features include two stacks in the middle of the hood, a half-height radiator grille, no sand box on the front platform, and no small louvers at the top front corners of the sides of the hood.
Burlington Northern #594 was originally owned by the Spokane, Portland and Seattle Railway.
