A layout without well thought-out and interesting scenery is just a train set.
The year is rolling around and the daffodils are flowering and holding up bravely against the gale force Wairarapa winds - I blame all the hot air that flows from Wellington, but that's just me. We have had another delivery from our American suppliers, freight, the American dollar and our very own Customs Service have each taken their chunk leaving us no alternative but to increase some prices but we have tried very hard to keep these to a minimum.
Some of our new items include Centrebeam Flat Cars complete with loads, these have been very hard to find so be quick, these will not last long. A centrebeam flatcar is a special flatcar that has a partition along the center line. It's perfect for materials that can be transported in packages and stacked on the railcar, like lumber, plywood and gypsum wallboard. The products are secured to the partition and to anchor points along the floor with cables. We have five different lumber loads for you to choose from, have a look. We also have a kit set Quonset Hut, tunnel portals, the ever popular log bunks and a range of other interesting items .
As mentioned delivery charges have risen and are becoming a bit of an issue so we have decided to do what we can to help and from 1 January 2024 we will deliver all orders over $200.00 free of charge to an urban address .
We also have some news for our much neglected N Scale modelers with a new shipment of N Scale stock now on the website. There is a little more to come so keep an eye out. And here's a clever idea which I wish I could take credit for but it came from one of our customers. If you have a big HO scale layout you can create a sense of distance but using N Scale at the back of the layout, also don't forget if you have an old logging site, the use of small scale track and locomotives was common place.

About Us
Anna Capri Trains was started by Rex Harris in the Manawatu over forty years ago. Rex was a well-respected small trader with a wealth of knowledge that he was always happy to share. Over those forty years a large and varied amount of stock was built up, some of it now vintage, collectable and unobtainable elsewhere.
We have taken over Anna Capri’s stock and are offering it to a wider audience via our internet site, we plan to ensure that the good name of Anna Capri which Rex built up through reliability and integrity remains at the forefront of our business.
Fraser is a long term model railway enthusiast, starting on the lounge floor with his first train set at the age of five and his obsession has only grown since then, his long suffering wife and two daughters indulged him for forty years until finally along came a grandson with a passion to equal his own.
Anna Capri Trains and Models is not just about trains however, there is a wide range of model cars and trucks, mostly HO size and dated from the 1960’s to 1980’s, many of these are no longer in production so if you are looking for something special we are worth asking. There are also many kit set models of buildings, everything from an undertakers to a cannery and from flat fronts to go on a wall to factories and hotels.
We are a webstore or online shop with a difference – we considered going down usual 'shopping basket' line but it was expensive, complicated and before we had gone too far into it a queue of people, rubbing their hands together and wanting a piece of the action had formed. Not that the online shopping platform, Paypal and the bank shouldn’t be paid for their services but we thought it would be better if you and I kept our money and we did things a little differently.
