Kato Siemens ALC-42 Charger & 3 Car Superliner Set - Standard DC #10-1788
The ALC-42 is a state-of-the-art diesel locomotive for long-distance passengers made by Siemens of Amtrack, and has been in operation since the summer of 2021. It has an engine that complies with exhaust gas regulations, energy saving and high-speed performance that incorporates the know-how of European railways, and is nicknamed "charger".
The double-decker "Superliner," is Amtrak's long-distance train that represents modern American railways. The "Superliner" has a two-story stainless steel body and is used for long-distance trains operated by Amtrak.
ALC-42/Superliner sets are used on the "California Zephyr" (Chicago-Emeryville), "Empire Builder" (Chicago-Seattle/Portland), "Coastal Starlight (Los Angeles - Seattle) and "Texas Eagle" (Chicago - Los Angeles).
The 4-car set consists of 1 locomotive #302, 1 sleeper, 1 coach baggage, and 1 coach.
