The British Leyland Princess was launched in 1975 as a luxury 4-door saloon designed by BL's Harris Mann. It came with the option of either a 4-speed manual or 3-speed automatic gearbox and its characteristic wedge-shaped front was quite an innovation for its time.
It was particularly popular as a high-end vehicle for transporting civic and public dignitaries of the day.
This Princess is decorated in authentic vermilion orange with black 'vinyl' roof and gold coach lines running along the length of the sides. Registered VRW 475S from 1976, with black chassis, silver wheels and brown & cream interior. The front grille is black with silver detail, including the word Princess and a red coronet.
