Designed to speed loading and unloading, these bigger cars entered service in the 1980s and quickly became a favorite with shippers and customers. These nicely detailed models are based on earlier cars built with oval cut-outs (popularly known as "opera windows") on the centerbeam to reduce overall weight, which are still in service with a wide range of railroads and lumber producers. Other features include:
- Prototypes in service from 1980s to the present
- Heavy die-cast metal underframe for excellent tracking
- Correct 36" RP-25 turned metal wheelsets
- Proto MAX(TM) metal knuckle couplers
